Who may be reported

This site accepts reports only about people who hold public office in Kenya, or who are standing for it. A report about a private citizen is outside the purpose of the site and will be closed without action.

What you declare when you submit

Before sending a report you confirm two things: that the person holds or seeks public office, and that what you have written is true as far as you know.

A report made in good faith that turns out to be mistaken is not a problem. Reports are allegations and are treated as such. A report you know to be false is a different matter, and may be an offence under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018.

Material you attach

Do not upload anything you obtained unlawfully. Attaching a document you took without authority does not help a case and may expose you personally. If you have seen a document but cannot lawfully share it, describe it instead.

Files are stored privately, are never publicly reachable, and are seen only by named COFEK reviewers.

What we do with a report

A named reviewer reads it. If it is credible it is referred to all five bodies at once — COFEK, Elimika Mashinani Trust, the Commission for University Education, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and KNQA — as an allegation and never as a finding. We make no findings of our own and publish no names.

Your reference number

The number you are given is the only way to reach your report. We store a keyed hash of it, not the number, so we cannot recover it and cannot issue a replacement. Anyone who holds the number can see the status of that report and the messages on it, so keep it to yourself.

Availability

This site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be reachable, and we are not able to accept liability for a report that is not received because the site was down.
